A Vacaville gate shop that fabricates what it installs, answers the phone at any hour,
and will tell you when you need less than you thought.
Our fabrication shop, where every gate frame is cut, fitted and welded square before it leaves for site.
We Are a Fabrication Shop First
Most companies offering gates in Solano County are installers. They order a gate close to the size of your
opening and make it fit. That works until your opening is not a standard size, which, on driveways shaped
by decades of grading and repaving, is most of the time.
We start with steel. Your gate is measured on site, drawn to those dimensions, cut and welded square on a
fabrication table, ground, finished and then hung. It is a slower way to work and it is the reason our
gates do not have a filler strip at one post or a latch that only meets if you lift the leaf.
Why We Answer at 3am
We are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours. That is deliberate, and it comes from what gate failures
actually look like. A driveway gate that jams shut traps your vehicles on your own property. One that
fails open leaves a commercial yard with no perimeter until somebody notices in the morning. Neither of
those is a problem that keeps politely until business hours, and most gate companies in this county
publish weekday hours only.
Safety Is the Part Nobody Advertises
Automated gates are heavy machines that move in public space. UL 325 requires at least two independent
entrapment protection devices for each entrapment zone in each direction of travel, and ASTM F2200 governs
the construction of the gate itself, including limiting frame openings to no more than 2.25 inches.
Plenty of gates in this county were installed relying on the operator's built-in force sensing alone,
which was never sufficient by itself. We install to the standard, and we prove it: before we hand over any
remotes we obstruct the gate physically, in front of you, and show you it reverses.
Measuring the grade fall across a driveway opening. This is the measurement that decides swing against slide.
One County, Several Climates
Solano County's microclimates swing from coastal to interior in about thirty miles, and that changes what
a gate needs. Vacaville averages roughly 21 days a year above 100 degrees while Fairfield sees about 11.
Vallejo and Benicia take chloride off the Carquinez Strait daily. Suisun City sits on the edge of the
largest brackish marsh on the West Coast. Dixon and Winters are dry farmland with field dust and wind.
So we quote the same drawing differently depending on where it is going, and we will tell you when the
expensive specification is unnecessary. A Dixon ranch gate does not need the marine-grade finish a Vallejo
Heritage District gate does, and selling you one anyway would be easy and dishonest.
What You Can Expect
A free on-site measurement, because the three numbers that decide a gate cannot be taken over the phone
A written specification, including the finish system your specific address needs
Drawings to approve before any steel is cut
A straight answer about permits, including which authority actually reviews your property
Safety devices installed to UL 325 and demonstrated by obstruction at handover
Before work starts you get the material, the finish system your specific address needs, the hardware and the permit path in writing. That matters years later on properties where a driveway gate, a fence line and a pedestrian gate were installed at different times: future work can match what is already there instead of guessing at it.
In house
Fabrication, not resale
Frames are cut, fitted, fully welded and ground in our own shop before they reach your property. That is what makes a gate square to your measured opening rather than trimmed toward it, and it is what lets us match existing ironwork or satisfy a design review that has already rejected a catalogue product.
2
Demonstrated safety, not assumed safety
UL 325 requires two independent entrapment protection devices per zone per direction of travel. We install them on every powered gate and physically obstruct the gate in front of you to prove the reversal before handing over any remotes. It is the most commonly skipped step in this trade.
Questions
About Us: Common Questions
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We carry the licensing and insurance required for gate fabrication, installation and the electrical work involved in automation in California. We will provide current details on request before any work starts, and we would encourage you to ask that of anybody quoting your gate.
Do you fabricate gates yourselves or install prefabricated ones?
We fabricate. Frames are cut, fitted and fully welded on a table in our own shop, and the welds are ground before finishing. Most gate companies in this county install prefabricated gates and adjust them to the opening, which is why so many local gates have a filler strip at one post.
What areas do you cover?
Vacaville is home. We work throughout Solano County including Fairfield, Suisun City, Dixon, Vallejo and Benicia, and we also cover Winters, which sits in Yolo County. Conditions differ substantially across that area, which is why we quote the same drawing differently depending on the address.
